#What is paperisation?

Demand for paper is rising while wood availability keeps shrinking. How is that supposed to work? 📦

Paper is hard to imagine our daily lives without, and demand keeps growing. This trend has even earned its own name, paperisation. What sounds positive at first comes with a challenge we're increasingly seeing. The availability of wood and recovered paper as classic raw material sources is declining, while demand keeps rising at the same time. Forests are reaching their limits, and recovered paper streams are limited and already being used intensively. The pressure on existing raw material sources keeps growing. 🌿

At the same time, agriculture produces huge amounts of plant-based residues that are currently often disposed of in environmentally harmful ways. The residues from pineapple cultivation are one example. 🍍 Raw materials that arise anyway and hold industrial potential that has barely been used so far.

This is exactly where we come in. We develop mechanically processed dry fibers from plant-based agricultural residues for use in the paper, packaging, and fiber cast industries. Wherever classic raw materials are becoming scarcer. ♻️
