This really caught us by surprise 😊.

Over the weekend, the Süddeutsche Zeitung dedicated a whole page to the pineapple, with five facts about the fruit. One of them touches on exactly our topic. What actually happens to the plant once the fruit has been harvested?

After the harvest, the leaves are usually thrown away or burned, even though, as the article puts it, they are "far too good to waste". And that is exactly where eco:fibr is mentioned, as an example of how new value can be created from supposed waste, through the production of high-quality fibres for industry 🍍.

We had no idea beforehand, which made the joy about this small but lovely surprise all the greater. Thank you, dear Süddeutsche Zeitung, for the mention 🙏.
