Last week marked Earth Overshoot Day – the day when humanity has consumed all the resources Earth can regenerate in a year. From this point on, we’re borrowing from the future.
It’s a wake-up call. One that demands action.
At eco:fibr, we start where others pollute and waste:We transform an agricultural residue – the pineapple plant – into something valuable.
Currently, these plants are disposed of in an environmentally harmful way:After harvest, they’re chemically dried using Paraquat, a highly toxic herbicide – and then burned. This practice pollutes the soil, water, and air, harms human health, and wastes valuable biomass.
We upcycle this waste into pulp for the paper industry – replacing wood, reducing emissions, and creating circular value. 🌱
