#Paperisation
To avoid plastic, we increasingly reach for paper-based solutions. But what do we do when the raw material for them runs out? 📦
The switch from plastic to paper has even been given its own name, Paperisation, and despite digitalisation the demand for paper keeps rising worldwide. What looks like a positive development at first glance brings a problem with it elsewhere, one that has hardly been in focus so far. Classic raw material sources like virgin fibre from wood and recovered paper are reaching their limits. Forests are under extreme pressure today 🔥. Recovered paper, in turn, cannot be recycled endlessly and loses quality anyway as our lifestyle changes 🍟. So the pressure on existing raw material sources is growing from two sides at once.
At the same time, a huge potential is left untapped in agriculture. After every harvest, large amounts of plant material remain, some of which are even disposed of in environmentally harmful ways. Yet these are raw materials that arise anyway and hold an industrial potential that has barely been used so far.
This is exactly where we come in. We make these residues usable for the fibre-processing industry. Turning Waste Into Purpose. By using eco:fibr, you reduce your dependence on wood fibres 🌱.
