#Julian traveled to indonesia and vietnam
Julian traveled to Indonesia and Vietnam for eco:fibr to look at pineapple cultivation and the raw material situation in Southeast Asia firsthand 🌏.
He visited pineapple plantations, spoke with contacts on the ground, and attended the World Expo of Packaging in Jakarta, a trade fair for the packaging and paper industry in Southeast Asia with a strong focus on plant-based fibers. The fair was also the occasion to take a closer look at the paper and packaging market in Southeast Asia. The region is growing fast and will play a major role in the future of fiber-based materials.
On site, Julian could see how pineapples are grown and harvested, and in what volumes the residues arise. This kind of understanding is exactly what we need to supply our fibers reliably and at a larger scale. We're bringing back plenty of impressions, new contacts, and some exciting conversations. More on that in the coming weeks.
