#german forest days

A tree planted today won't yield wood for decades, but demand for paper and packaging can't wait that long. 🌲

From September 18 to 20, the German Forest Days take place under the motto Forests and Economy, and this exact tension is something we deal with at eco:fibr every day. Forests provide far more than just wood, they regulate the climate, store water, and offer habitat to countless species. At the same time, they're one of the most important raw material sources for the paper and packaging industry, and it's precisely this dual role that puts them under growing pressure. 🌍

The more paper is needed, the more that pressure builds. New trees take decades to become commercially usable, while demand for fiber keeps rising. That gap can't be closed by faster growth alone. 🌾

That's exactly why, at eco:fibr, we look at raw materials that don't need decades to grow. From pineapple plant residues, we produce mechanically processed dry fibers that can take pressure off forests in specific areas, without replacing them.

Forests and the economy don't have to be at odds, we just need more raw material sources that make both possible.
